Vets in Training Spring 2020 Program at Learning Accelerator in Medford

Program sessions:
Week 1: All Creatures Great and Small
All hands on deck! This round floor discussion will allow the children to investigate, explore, and discover the individual animals of the learning center. We will meet and greet a variety of fun and friendly animals!.
Week 2: Ticks, Tweezers and Prickly Things
As veterinarians, we remove all kinds of things from patients. Veterinarians must learn to remove ticks, fleas, and even prickly plants from their patients’ fur and skin. Students will learn to use their removal skills on simulated patients during this super fun and interactive lab class!
Week 3: Ocean Animals: Do shark’s dream of chasing other fish? Do whales sneeze? Who is the principal of a school of fish? These and many other questions will be answered as we look at our animal friends in the deep blue ocean.
Week 4: Worms! Worms! Worms!: Through hands-on exploration and discussion students will observe the physical characteristics and habits of these fascinating little wigglers, and learn the important role they play in composting.
Week 5: Grooming 101:
Students will be hands-on learning to groom animals from head-to-toe! Brushing, bathing, dental care & nail clipping are all important aspects of pet care. Students will have the opportunity to work on these grooming techniques with a variety of species.
