Our Vets in Training Summer Program is a unique experience designed with fun, interactive, educational experiences for students ages 5-12.

Activities will include animal care, lessons related to the weekly theme, presentations, hospital experiences, and a pizza party on Friday.

Program space is limited in order to facilitate a more personalized learning experience for each camper. * Field trips will be dependent upon CDC guidelines at that time*

Rate: $420/week (includes all costs and a summer program tee shirt)

Week 1  All Creatures Great & Small:  June 21 – June 25 Learn about the wonderful world of animals – From tiny microscopic creatures to those too big to fit into the room and everything in between!

Week 2 Aquatic Animals:  June 28 – July 2 About 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water! Join us as we learn about the animals who occupy our oceans, rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams!

Week 3 Exotic Animals:  July 5 – July 9 Veterinarians don’t just care for cats and dogs! Learn about exotics animals and what vets do for them!

Week 4 Art With Animals:  July 12 – July 16 Explore your artistic side with a week of animal-themed projects, while enjoying time with our furry (and scaly) muses!

Week 5 Intro to Veterinary Sciences:  July 19 – July 23 Want to be a veterinarian when you grow up? Just love animals and want to understand them better? Join us for this fun, hands-on week-long look into what veterinarians do and why!.

Week 6 Intermediate Veterinary Sciences:  July 26 – July 30 Continue broadening your understanding of veterinary science through hands-on skills labs, surgery observation, interactive models, optional dissection, and lots of help from our VIT animals!

Week 7 Animal Allies and Advocates:  August 2 – August 6 Put your love of animals into action! Interact with the VIT animal crew while experiencing the joy of bettering the lives of animals through awareness and service.

Week 8 Pet Preparedness:  August 9 – August 13 Be ready for anything! Through fun activities and hands-on learning, students will learn how to handle  all manner of situations they and their animal friends may encounter!

Week 9 More Art With Animals:  August 16 – August 20 Animal-loving artists will get creative with a week of completely different animal-themed projects while spending time with all of our Vets in Training animal pals!

Week 10 Caring for Companion Animals:  August 23 – August 27 Students will gain a  deeper understanding of the needs of our beloved companion animals and how to best meet those needs.

Week 11 Say Goodbye to Summer!:  August 30 – September 3rd Join the crew at VIT as we celebrate the last week of summer with lots of hands-on learning, crafts, surgery observation, and all the animal time you can handle! 

Additional Care Options

  • Early Care 7:30am-9:00am, $50/week

  • After Care 3:30pm-5:00pm, $60/week

Available Discounts

  • 5% Early bird discount for registered and paid in full by March 1st

  • 10% Attending 5 or more weeks

  • 5% Attending 2-4 weeks

  • 5% Sibling discount for attending camp during the same week

  • 5% Military Discount

Looking for a chance to learn, grow, and have a blast? Be a VIT CIT! Counselor in Training—This is a summer experience for the outgoing student who loves to teach, learn, and work. One Counselor in Training will be accepted for each week of our summer program. Cost is discounted 50% and candidates must apply in writing to with a cover letter and resume. This is a great resume building and leadership experience!
