Welcome to the 2020 Winter Session 2

Students will spend five weeks exploring many aspects of veterinary medicine in a hands-on, interactive way.  All lessons will be taught at an age-appropriate level. Students should prepare for many special visitors AND unique activities!

This session will run from the week of February 17th through the week of March 16th and is perfect for all students, Pre-K through 12th grade, who love animals, science and learning.

Check out this session’s class schedule:

Week 1: Advanced Grooming

Students will learn more in-depth and advanced grooming techniques to keep pets healthy and looking great!

Week 2: Intro to Veterinary Dentistry

Veterinarians can do a wide array of dental procedures. Students will learn about the basics of veterinary dentistry, including common ailments, tools, and procedures.

Week 3:  **Pre-Vet Techs, Little Vet Techs, Ready Vet Go**

Getting to Know Goats

Students of all ages will meet and learn with some adorable new goat friends! Younger students will learn about what makes goats different from other animals, and will get to brush and feed them too!

Week 4: **Pre-Vet Techs, Little Vet Techs, Ready Vet Go**

Differences & Similarities

Veterinarians need to know how to provide medical care for every type of animal! How can a vet treat both a cat and a lion? Today we will learn how that is possible, by learning the difference and similarities of each animal; we will work through a fun program of discovering how different and similar animals can be!

Week 5: **Pre-Vet Techs, Little Vet Techs, Ready Vet Go**

Prehistoric vs. Modern Animals

Are there still prehistoric animals alive today? Yes! Many animals that are alive today are descendants of prehistoric animals that roamed the earth millions of years ago! Students will learn about the prehistoric ancestors and their descendants and even make their own fossils!
