Philanthropy Lesson

Giving is good for you. The veterinarian world is filled with opportunities to give back and help animals. When we help others it activates the areas of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection and trust.  Join us as we do a special project to give back to the animals.

Veterinary Microscopy

Microscopes are invaluable tools to a veterinarian. They are used to evaluate organs, tumors, skin conditions, parasites, and more. Students will learn proper microscope use and care, how to collect and prepare specimens. Students will be doing exploring many specimens during the lab.

Skills Lab

Join us for this hand on skills session where we learn some of the everyday procedures that veterinarians perform including taking vitals, giving subcutaneous fluids and other exciting surprises. *NEEDLE SKILLS

It’s photo time. Learn the ins and outs of how to photograph pets through the eyes of a photographer. Learning how to properly compose your pictures is the name of the game to make interesting and fun photos!

Pet CPR

Students will have the chance to learn how to save a pet’s life during this animal CPR lesson and lab. Students will practice their technique on our VIT dummy dog!   Techniques such as taking a pet’s capillary refill time, heart rate and pulse rate will also be explored.

Habitats and Responsible Pet Ownership

Students will look at the world’s major habitats and understand why certain animals must have that environment.  Responsible pet ownership is very closely connected to an animal’s habitat—students will explore this connection.
