After-school program

Session Dates:

Thursday October 3, 10, 17, 24, November 7, 14, 21, December 5, 2019

Session Topics:

All Creatures Great and Small

All hands on deck!  This round floor discussion will allow the children to investigate, explore, and discover the individual animals of the learning center.  There will be a few animal surprises!

Veterinary Microscopy

Microscopes are invaluable tools to a veterinarian. They are used to evaluate organs, tumors, skin conditions, parasites, and more. Students will learn proper microscope use and care, how to collect and prepare specimens. Students will be doing exploring many specimens during the lab.

First Aid

How should you respond in an Emergency? Students will learn the ABCs of emergency care for pets. 

Skills Lab:

Join us for this hand on skills session where we learn some of the everyday procedures that veterinarians perform including taking vitals, giving subcutaneous fluids and other exciting surprises. *NEEDLE SKILLS

 Philanthropy Lesson:

Giving is good for you. The veterinarian world is filled with opportunities to give back and help animals. When we help others it activates the areas of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection and trust.  Join us as we do a special project to give back to the animals. 

Photography 101:

It’s photo time. Learn the ins and outs of how to photograph pets through the eyes of a photographer. Learning how to properly compose your pictures is the name of the game to make interesting and fun photos!  

Water Footprint:

Water is essential to every living being. Animals living in the water lead us to the important concept about how our bodies and our world depend on water. Students will uncover the water footprint of food as well as calculate their own water footprint. 

Alternative Veterinary Medicine:

Every good doctor has many tools in their toolbox to help patients. Students will learn  about non traditional methods of healing

*Please be aware that this club is offered by an outside organization; therefore it is a separate fee and not covered under the Evesham Township School District annual club and activity fee.
